We’ve done it!

30. June 2023

At the end of a project extending over three years, from the decision during the Covid epidemic through to transporting the last machine – an EMAG grinding machine – from Munich to Penzberg, we completed our plant merger on 30th June 2023 when we handed over the cleared Munich plant to its owners. The biggest project in the company history of Schleicher Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG has therefore been realised: the Munich site with its 6,300m² on different floors has been successfully merged with our plant in Penzberg. This has meant the further extension and modernisation of the latter as well as the removal of our registered domicile to Penzberg, whereby not only the relocation of machines was involved, but also the alignment to our newly established plant structure of our organisational and operational systems, the distribution of responsibilities, and the relocation of all our staff.

Our head of project, Rudolf-Martin Schleicher (on the left in our photo) expressed his thanks to the staff, emphasising that this project was only possible due to the intensive, committed and effective cooperation demonstrated by all staff members and by the external companies involved in the various project phases. The resulting collective spirit is a valuable asset which forms the basis of the new amalgamation in our corporate culture.

The final result of this project is that now around 220 highly qualified, skilled members of staff work together at Penzberg in an area covering approx. 10,000m² offering optimised production processes, new sections for trainees, quality assurance and assembly as well as extended office and recreation areas close to the production line, thus ensuring increased efficiency in the production of ‘Schleicher cams’ for the global market.
