ÖKOPROFIT Club for combining eco and profit

Schleicher Fahrzeugteile can well be called a ‘repeat offender’ when it comes to the ÖKOPROFIT Club involving the three districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Starnberg and Weilheim-Schongau – we meanwhile belong to the core team of companies who have committed for over 16 years now to improving operational environmental and climate protection. The objectives of this group project initiated by these districts are, among others, to meet the legal requirements, to reduce the consumption of energy and resources as well as to cut operational costs and get our staff involved.

In 2021, 13 companies in the region participated in this project and, with the support of Arqum GmbH (the environmental consultation company), developed some interesting measures in respect of energy, emissions, heat, waste and water. This resulted in measurable effects: together we saved 194,000 kWh of energy and 124 000 kg of CO2 in 2021 as well as reducing residual waste by 9,500 kg.

Schleicher Fahrzeugteile, for example, installed a modern compressor control system with a self-learning function which ensures the optimised connection of power, hence sparing the required compressors; this reduced energy consumption as well as increasing durability. The modernisation of our machinery to include innovative, energy-efficient manufacturing machines saved on waste materials such as cooling lubricants and hydraulic fluids, at the same time as cutting energy consumption. As in the other years, there were interactive workshops and individual consultation sessions which continually extend our knowledge of the efficient use of resources, keeping us at the cutting edge of this technology.

The participating companies were presented with their awards in a final virtual session including messages from the District Administrators, Andrea Jochner-Weiß, Stefan Frey and Josef Niedermeier.
