Oberland Business Association visits Schleicher Fahrzeugteile: Focus on Generation Z

On October 8, 2025, Schleicher Fahrzeugteile hosted a special networking event for the Oberland Business Association at its premises in Penzberg. Under the title “What makes tomorrow’s employees tick?”, representatives of regional companies, schools, and politicians from the Weilheim-Schongau district met to discuss the expectations and potential of the younger generation.

After a short get-together, the event began with a keynote speech by Laura Ball, training manager at Sparkasse Oberland, on the topic of “Generation Z between expectations and potential.” This was followed by a lively panel discussion on the striking blue Schleicher sofas – a format that was very well received by the guests.

The panel discussion featured:

• the principals of the Penzberg secondary school and Schongau vocational school,
• a Sparkasse Oberland trainee representing Generation Z,
• entrepreneur Monika Uhl, publisher oft he magazine Ausbildungskompass,
• and the master craftsman of the the Schleicher Fahrzeugteile training department

The audience included numerous company representatives from the region, as well as District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß and Penzberg’s Mayor Stefan Korpan. The discussion was characterized by authentic contributions and interested questions – a genuine exchange between the generations.

Managing Director Stefan Schleicher then presented the company, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Since 2023, Schleicher Fahrzeugteile has been based in Penzberg, where it has its headquarters and factory, and employs around 180 people. Camshafts and other shafts are manufactured with the highest precision for a wide range of industries – from energy and supply technology, commercial vehicles, aviation, and medical technology to agriculture. During a tour of the production facility, guests gained exciting insights into the complex world of camshaft manufacturing.
